River Cottage - Hugh Fearnley-WhittingstallHugh has done a great deal to make 'responsible' meat eating respectable. Sharing the same view as Real Meat, that meat eaters should face up to what has to be done to provide meat and to see that it is done properly.
Their mission statement is: River Cottage aims to promote a better understanding of the nature and origins of what we eat, and to celebrate and contribute to the vibrancy of our local food community. Every product and experience that we create aims to have a beneficial impact on our understanding, enjoyment and relationship with real food.

However . . . Never failing to deliver an honest opinion, there are one or two things about CIWF that we as both supporters and members have concerns:
Sponsorship - The Real Meat Company has been offered sponsorship over the years and has always refused. We believe that sponsorship is de facto tainted. CIWF, sadly, allows itself to be sponsored by supermarkets.
Gaffs - Although their research is generally pretty damn good, they do make their mistakes. No one's perfect!
